I’m excited to share a short video of one of the Irvine Foundation’s impressive board members. Teresa Matsui joined our board in 2022 and is President and CEO of Matsui Nursery in Salinas (founded by her father in 1967). 

As you’ll hear in the video, Teresa’s stewardship of the company brings important insights from an employer point of view to Irvine’s work. Our focus on empowering low-wage workers in California requires an understanding of the many issues and dynamics at play for employees and employers, including high-road practices of employers like Teresa that could be replicated across industries.
