In 2014, through the Voter Outreach and Technology (VOTE) Initiative, Irvine funded a set of nonprofit organizations to test how to increase voter participation among underrepresented communities by incorporating newer technologies into voter outreach strategies. To measure the results, the VOTE Initiative funded a team of academic researchers to assess the effectiveness of various strategies.
This report offers lessons learned and summarizes the analysis of the results from the November 2014 experiments conducted by participating VOTE organizations.
