To provide technical assistance in implementing the Arts Regional Initiative, an initiative to build the capacity of regional arts organizations in Southern California, the Central Valley, and Central Coast, payable over 1 year.

Connection Through Cultural Participation

East Bay Center for the Performing Arts
$300,000
For the expansion of the Diploma Initiative, a comprehensive, multicultural arts and civic-leadership training program for traditionally underserved youth in Richmond, payable over 3 years.

Teatro Vision
$275,000
To implement a new marketing and audience-development plan, payable over 3 years.

Special Project: Communities Advancing the Arts Initiative

California Community Foundation
$500,000
For a regranting and donor-development initiative to increase
arts-related philanthropy within Los Angeles County, payable over 3 years.

Informing Californians

League of Women Voters of California Education Fund

To support the development and dissemination of the Easy Voter Guide, which provides nonpartisan, user-friendly information on election issues, payable over 2 years.

Radio Bilingüe

To report on environmental and other policy issues from the Central Valley and to connect listeners to related civic-engagement opportunities, payable over 3 years.

Promoting Academically Rigorous Career and Technical Education

To improve freshman literacy in two Cristo Rey Network high schools in Sacramento and Los Angeles, payable over 2 years.

High Tech High Foundation

To develop a self-sustaining Charter Management Organization to support the operation of High Tech High schools, payable over 2 years.

To expand charter management organizations in the Central Valley of California, payable over 2 years.

For the Career Academy Support Network to increase college preparation and college enrollment among students who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education, payable over
