Program Associate, Youth
Anna Basallaje was appointed Program Associate for the Youth program in May 2008. Prior to joining the foundation, Anna served as the Director of the Youth and Parent Leadership Development Project at the Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California, where she focused on developing the leadership skills of immigrant families so that they could effectively advocate on issues affecting their communities. Her efforts centered on building school-community partnerships in Los Angeles County in order to improve equity in public education for underserved and low-income students and families. Previously, Anna was the Interim Program Director and Associate Director of the College Pathways Project with the Fulfillment Fund in Los Angeles and a Student Affairs Officer with the Graduate Opportunity Program at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley.
